About Us
Who We Are
At Nasc, the Migrant and Refugee Rights Centre, we work to ensure that people who move to Ireland in search of safety, opportunity, or family can access their rights and build secure lives.
We are a registered Irish charity and independent non-governmental organisation advocating for migrant rights and refugee rights in Ireland. Since our establishment in Cork in 2000, we have supported thousands of individuals navigating Ireland’s immigration, asylum, and international protection systems.
As a registered Irish charity, we are governed by a voluntary Board of Directors and operate in line with the Charities Governance Code. Accountability, transparency, and independence are central to our work.
Our funding comes from a combination of public grants, philanthropic foundations, and individual supporters. This enables us to deliver frontline migrant support services while maintaining an independent voice on immigration and refugee policy in Ireland.
Our Vision
An inclusive and equal Ireland that realises the rights of all refugees and migrants
Our Mission
Our work is guided by our drive to:
- To deliver a range of services for, and with, migrant and refugee communities.
- To promote equal participation by migrants and refugees in the social, cultural and economic life in Ireland.
- To use our expertise to inform and influence national immigration and protection law and policy.
Our Values
All our work is underpinned with the following values:
- Respect for those who use Nasc’s services, and all those who work or volunteer with Nasc, or who we engage with.
- Empowerment of migrants to determine their own path.
- Inclusion of all.
- Professionalism within service delivery, advocacy and engendering systemic change.
- Integrity in delivering on our mission.
- Partnership with all those seeking to realise rights for migrants.
We help people navigate challenges, opportunities, and new beginnings.
