The film explores the story of the Roma community in Cork and their journey from a small camp in Romania to life in Ireland. It compares the lives of Roma who were lucky enough to land on Ireland’s shores and what those who remain behind in Huedin continue to endure.

The Roma who camp outside Huedin live in squalor and deprivation, next to open railway tracks and a dangerous dumping site. Once here, the Roma people face their own share of hurdles, overcoming discrimination, unemployment and exile – trying to be a part of Irish society while preserving their Roma heritage.

The film was supported by funding from Cork City Partnership, the HSE and generous individual donors through FundIt.ie. It was launched in the Gate Cinema in Cork in April 2013 and screened at the IndieCork film festival in October 2013.
