Community Worker (Refugee Supports)

Nasc, the Migrant and Refugee Rights Centre in association with Social Inclusion, Cork Kerry Community Healthcare, invite applications for a part-time position (22.5 hrs. per week) as a Community Worker (Refugee Supports). The position will be based in Cork City.

The role of the Community Worker (Refugee Supports) will be to support HSE services to work with families and individuals who are part of the Irish Refugee Protection Programme and/or are living in EROCs and other accommodation centres.

The position is for One Year Fixed Term

Essential requirements include:

  • A recognised 3rd Level Qualification in Youth & Community Work, Social work, The Humanities, or an equivalent qualification

AND

  • Have experience of working with ethnic minority communities and in particular refugees and asylum seekers.
  • Have a minimum of two years experience of Community Work, Social Work or equivalent in the community and/or statutory sector

Knowledge of Arabic is desirable.
