Happy Valentine’s Day from Nasc
We at Nasc would like to wish a Happy Valentine’s Day to all of our friends, clients and supporters and especially to the 67 families we have helped reunite in the past 12 months. Some families have waited years to see their husbands, wives, partners, children, or parents again. May your first Valentine’s Day together again with your loved ones be very special.
Also, please take a moment to think about loved ones far away and all of the families who continue to be separated – in some cases by conflict or persecution – this Valentine’s Day. Despite the recent clarity provided by a new INIS policy document on family reunification, many of our clients continue to wait in fear or uncertainty while a decision is made by the Department of Justice. We hope next year brings you and your loved ones together again.
Minister Shatter recently announced a new policy document on family reunification. While we welcomed the publication for introducing much needed clarity in family reunification guidelines, we continue to have concerns. You can read our statement here.
