Invitation to ‘Roma: One People, Many Lives’ Exhibition Launch

Thu, February 13, 2014

The Equality Authority, Nasc and Pavee Point Traveller and Roma Centre are delighted to announce the launch date for our upcoming photographic exhibition and invite you to come and join us on the day. The exhibition entitled ‘Roma: One People, Many Lives’, aims to challenge stereotypes of Roma people in Ireland.

Roma people in Ireland know first-hand the difficulties they face in many areas of their lives because of the negative assumptions that other people make about them. This prejudice can lead to discrimination and racism. The exhibition is an opportunity to tell people the real story about Roma people living in Ireland, challenge the negative ideas that are out there and present the positive aspects of Roma people and life.

A full information leaflet on the exhibition is available here

At the event there will be music provided by Matej Makula and Vlatko Gunar as well as a number of key speakers including Dr. Mary Murphy, Acting Chair of IHREC (Designate); Gabi Muntean, Pavee Point; Jennifer DeWan, Nasc; and Manu Paun, project participant.
