Nasc & HSE recruiting Principal Clinical Psychologist Specialist (Refugee Supports)

Nasc, the Irish Immigrant Support Centre, in association with the HSE Social Inclusion Cork/Kerry Community Healthcare Social Inclusion Service invites applications for the position of Principal Clinical Psychologist Specialist (Refugee Supports). This position is a one-year fixed term contract, 4 days per week.

The role of the Principal Clinical Psychologist Specialist will be to support the development of a full range of psychological supports to improve outcomes for refugee families in Cork & Kerry, and to provide the necessary training and consultation supports to frontline staff working directly with families.

Essential criteria:

  • A recognised University degree or diploma (NQAI Level 8 equivalent) obtained with first or second class honours in which psychology was taken as a major subject and honours obtained in that subject.
  • A postgraduate professional psychological qualification recognised by the Psychological Society of Ireland in Clinical Psychology as appropriate to the area of professional psychology in which the position is designated. OR A postgraduate professional psychology qualification validated by the Department of Health and Children in clinical Psychology as appropriate to the area of professional psychology in which the position is designated
  • Have at least eight years satisfactory post graduate experience in the area of clinical psychology inclusive of the three years spent in pursuing a course (e.g. D. Psych. Sc. (Clin. Psych.) leading to the postgraduate professional qualification in Clinical Psychology and including at least three years satisfactory experience working as a senior clinical psychologist.
  • Possess the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and management ability) for the proper discharge of duties of the office.
