Nasc makes submission to Justice Committee on racism and integration
Last week, Nasc made a submission to the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Justice, Equality and Defence on the issue of racism and integration.
Our submission is based on our experiencing working with migrants and ethnic minorities who have experienced or witnessed racism and our belief that the existing legislative and policy framework is not adequate to tackling racism and promoting integration in Ireland.
Nasc CEO Fiona Finn stated: “We welcome the opportunities the Justice Committee has been making in seeking input from individuals and organisations about the issues they are working on. We do a significant amount of work promoting integration at a local and national level, and we have seen firsthand the impact racism has on individuals and on society at large. We look forward to the opportunity to discuss our recommendations in more depth with the Committee.”
