ethnic-minorities-protests-4-310x415With the leaving certificate results just out, we are seeing an increase in questions about access to third level education for asylum seekers.

The Department of Education has set up a ‘Pilot Support Scheme’ for asylum seekers who are living in direct provision, who have been in the Irish education system for five years or more, and who are at the protection or leave to remain stage.

This scheme will allow eligible applicants to access grants and free fees for third level and post leaving cert (PLC) courses.

For more information about the scheme, to find out if you are eligible and how to apply, visit the Department of Education’s website here.

If you have any questions about the Scheme or would like our support in applying, please contact admin@nascireland.org.
