Removal of Work Permit Requirements for Romanian and Bulgarian Nationals
Nasc are delighted with the announcement from the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation that with immediate effect all Romanian and Bulgarian nationals have free access to the labour market.
That is to say, they no longer require a work permit to take up employment in the State. Nasc has long advocated for this as we believed that their rights under the Accession Treaties were not being met due to the restrictive policies of the Department. Romanian and Bulgarian nationals are now afforded the same treatment as all EU Nationals residing in Ireland.
Further information can be found on the Department’s website here.
