Employer Training Session

On the 16th April Nasc met with employers at our Employer Training Session which focussed on all aspects of hiring migrant workers. This training session is part of Nasc’s Employment, Education and Enterprise Strategy which is funded by the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform.
Presentations were given by the following organisations:
- National Employment Rights Authority (NERA)
NERA is an Office of the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment which was established on an interim basis in February 2007.
- Way Over Yonder
Way Over Yonder is an independent training and development organisation serving the community, public service and small business sectors.
- Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment
The Dept of Enterprise, Trade and Employment have responsibility for overseeing the work permit/green card schemes.
- Catherine Maguire, Equality and Welfare Officer, University College Cork, Human Resources Department
UCC is one of the largest employers in Munster and has a large amount of employees from non-EU countries who require employment permits. As such, UCC is a diverse workplace with a host of nationalities represented in its workforce. Equality and Welfare Officer, Catherine Maguire, will speak about the challenges and benefits of such a work environment.
