In 2007 Nasc was awarded funding by the the Office of the Minister for Integration and administered by Pobal, as part of its Fund for the Integration of Legally Resident Immigrants, to enable a new Employment, Education and Enterprise Project.
This project is focused on developing a coordinated strategy, based on the needs of migrants in Cork, around the key issues relating to the integration of Cork's new communities: employment, enterprise development and education / training. We have formed two consultation committees which include both migrants, employers, service providers and other key stakeholders in Cork City.
The project will involve engaging with key service providers and employers in order to address the specific needs of migrants, strategy development, developing and publishing brochures targeted at migrants in Cork, and researching relevant issues.
Nasc launched Strategy for Cork 'Integrating the Future' in relation to Migrant Emploment Education and Enterprise & Information Booklet 'A Guide to Education, Employment and Enterprise for Migrants in Cork' on April 28th 2008
Nasc ran an Employment, Education and Enterprise Symposium in November 2007.
