What You Or Your Organisation Can Do

  2. Invite local activists to meet and plan local strategies
  3. Visit or Write to your TD, Senator or Councillor

Information for YOU to USE (see below)

1. Endorse Nasc’s Manifesto on Family Reunification

  • The Manifesto is available at our offices, Enterprise House, 35 Mary St Cork, telephone 021-4317411 or read and print our Manifesto (Right-click and "Save Target" to download).
You can also email your request to info@nascireland.org and we will send the manifesto directly to you.
We would appreciate if you put your name, address, email and telephone on the space provided on the Manifesto.
  • You can endorse the manifesto in person by letting Nasc know that you would like to do so and we will add your name to our list. Come to visit our offices or send an email at the address described above.
  • You can endorse this campaign online by signing our On-Line Petition
  • The number of individuals and organizations who have endorsed the campaign will be posted on our website and once we have 5000 names the signed manifestos will be sent to the government.
  • We would be grateful if you could post the manifesto on websites or notice boards where others might also see and support our Campaign.

2. Invite local people to meet and plan local strategies

  • Get the campaign started by inviting people to meetings, such as people likely to be supportive of refugees and immigrants’ rights, and/or are personally affected by the problem especially refugees and immigrants themselves. Make a special effort to involve youth. See our section on involving young people.
  • At the meeting describe the campaign goals, messages etc. and show them the information about our Family Reunification Campaign.  Brainstorm with the group for actions and activities to bring the issue alive to politicians, the media and the public.
  • Select one or two actions (e.g. see Visit your TD below) and plan the next steps needed e.g. for committee members to learn more about the issue, to reach out to separated families etc. Please send us (info@nascireland.org) a contact name for your committee, so we can refer interested parties from your area who may contact us.

3. Visit or Write to your TD, Senator or Councillor

  • As a first action, we encourage you to visit TDs at their clinics to deliver the campaign documents, explain the issue and present the Nasc's recommendations. See our "Toolbox for Campaigning"
